In collaboration with research firms Trucost and Sustainalytics, the magazine will once again evaluate the environmental performance of America’s 500 largest publically traded companies, and will expand this year to include the 500 largest companies internationally as well.
The Green Rankings assess companies based on a variety of environmental performance areas including greenhouse gas emissions, water withdrawal, waste, emissions, and natural resource use, and corporate environmental policies, programs, and initiatives globally.
Last year’s winner, Dell, topped a list that also saw Hewlett-Packard, Johnson & Johnson, Sprint, and Nike rank amongst the most green companies in America.
Newsweek and its data partners will be reaching out to companies over the coming weeks.
