Defra commissioned Trucost to produce guidelines for companies to report on their environmental impacts.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) is a government department in the UK. Defra  make policy and legislation, and work with others to deliver their policies in areas such as the natural environment, sustainable development and the green economy, and environmental protection and pollution control.

Defra commissioned Trucost to produce guidelines for companies to report on their environmental impacts. The guidelines are designed to help businesses report on their most significant environmental impacts (Key Performance Indicators) in line with regulatory requirements of the Companies Act 2006.
