The updated Sustainability Framework covers the IFC's policy on social and environmental sustainability for projects; performance standards which define clients' responsibilities for managing environmental and social risks; and an access to information policy. The performance standards, which recognise that resource efficiency is inherently good business given growing global resource constraints, include new measures to enhance energy and water efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
