21st May 2004 - Trucost sponsors Green Mountain Summit on Investor Responsibility, Vermont, 23-26 May 2004

London, Friday 21st May 2004: Trucost is sponsoring the Annual Green Mountain Summit on Investor Responsibility in Vermont on 23-26 May 2004, following the success of our sponsorship for this summit last year. This is one of the largest responsible investment conferences in North America, covering fiduciary responsibility, sustainable investment and corporate governance issues.

Trucost’s research, which provides a quantitative measure of environmental impacts in financial terms, covers over 1,700 companies worldwide including full coverage of S&P 500, FTSE All-Share, Nikkei 225 and several European indices. Trucost has just published a Special Report ‘Climate Change and the S&P 500’ which analyses the carbon dioxide emissions of all the S&P 500 companies and assesses how significant these impacts are. Trucost’s methodology has been developed with the help and support of Trucost’s International Advisory Panel, on which leading US academics are represented.

Simon Thomas, Chairman of Trucost, will be speaking at the Summit (11.40am on Monday 24th May) about ‘Incorporating the environment into mainstream fund management’ and Dr Robert Repetto, Trucost Advisory Panel Member and Professor at Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, will be speaking after Simon Thomas (12.00 noon on Monday 24th May) on ‘Environmental Exposures and Financial Disclosures’.

Trucost is exhibiting at the Summit so come along and meet us, see a live demonstration of the Trucost Environmental Cost Calculator and learn about our range of products.

Trucost is offering a free one-page report (worth $150) to Summit attendees, for a company of their choice - for details see our advert in the conference brochure.
